I am a skilled clinical mental health counselor with a passion for working toward a more compassionate and better functioning world. Most people go their whole lives without the skills to understand themselves, let alone other people (especially when those other people are neurodivergent)! I want to correct that cultural oversight.
I work full-time as an mental health therapist in Brevard and the Asheville area. I also offer consultation, speaking, and coaching to organizations and individuals looking to improve their practices and understanding of wellness, stress management, and especially neurodiversity.
I am a queer- and neurodivergent-affirming therapist. I operate through a trauma-informed lens, using narrative therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and humanistic ideologies. I also provide clients with evidence-based coping and emotional regulation skills, as well as practical problem-solving strategies.
Emily's unique blend of wisdom, wit, and empathy are a gift to all those whose lives she touches. She can glimpse all of the stories that constellate around a person and discern which one is most pertinent to work with towards their growth and healing.
Emily is warm, genuine, and a true supporter of their clients. Working with Emily guarantees you will get to build a strong relationship with a cool, caring human!
Emily is a highly skilled and dedicated therapist. Her authenticity is infectious, fostering a wonderfully productive therapy environment. Emily has the ability to hold space while posing important questions. I wholeheartedly recommend Emily.
